THE SYMPTOMS OF PELVIC ORGAN PROLAPSE

THE SYMPTOMS OF PELVIC ORGAN PROLAPSE Jul,27,2020

The lower part of our body, which is located between the hips and below the navel, is commonly known as the pelvis. A number of vital organs in the body of women such as vagina, uterus, urethra, rectum, intestines, cervix, and bladders are located in this tight space.

In some cases, the tissues and muscles inside the pelvis that hold these organs may get torn, weak, or even stretched out. When this happens, some of the organs or body parts that are located in the pelvic area may fail to function normally. In addition to that, some of the body tissues may also stick out of the vagina of women. However, this condition, which is called as prolapse, may affect all the organs that are located in the pelvis.

Recent studies conducted by experts in the field of medical science revealed a shocking conclusion that approximately 50 percent of women in the age range of 50 to 79 experience pelvic organ prolapse (POP). It is significant to note that pelvic organ prolapse does not always cause symptoms. However, some women who have fallen prey to pelvic organ prolapse often experience mild to severe symptoms.

Many health care providers claim that the symptoms of this health condition will be mild in the mornings, but would get worse as the day goes on. Moreover, the symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse will vary from one patient to another depending on what sort of prolapse they have. Some of the most prominent symptoms of this health disorder are discussed below.
