Uterine Cancer: Symptoms And Diagnosis

UTERINE CANCER SYMPTOMS AND DIAGNOSIS Nov,09,2022

Uterine cancer is a general term that is used to describe cancers of the womb or uterus. There are two
types of uterine cancers, Endometrial cancer and Uterine sarcoma. Usually, the terms endometrial
cancer and uterine cancer are used interchangeably.
Endometrial cancer is a type of uterine cancer that develops in the inner lining of the uterus. As per the
experts in our free womens health clinic, it is one of the most common types of cancer affecting the
reproductive system. Uterine sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the walls of your uterus and is
a very rare type of cancer.

Symptoms Of Uterine Cancer

Symptoms of uterine can resemble those of many other conditions affecting women. If you experience
unusual pain or bleeding, you should visit an affordable health clinic in your area and talk to a
gynecologist. Ensuring an accurate diagnosis is very important to get the proper treatment. The most
common symptoms of uterine cancer are:
 Spotting or vaginal bleeding after menopause.
 Pain or cramping below the belly area.
 Clear, or light white discharge from the vagina if you are postmenopausal.
 Frequent and heavy bleeding from the vagina in women above the age of forty years.

Diagnosis Of Uterine Cancer

You need to talk to your doctor if you notice any signs and symptoms of uterine cancer. Your doctor will
ask about the symptoms that you experience, your family history and risk factors. The healthcare
provider will also perform a pelvic exam and physical exam to diagnose the condition. One or more tests
will also be performed by your healthcare provider to confirm the diagnosis of uterine cancer. Blood
tests and imaging tests are commonly used to diagnose uterine cancer.

Imaging Tests

Various imaging tests like CT scans, MRI scans and Transvaginal ultrasounds can be used to diagnose
uterine cancer. CT scans can take detailed images of the inside of the body, and ultrasound scans make
use of radio waves and electromagnets to make images. Probes are inserted into the vagina to get
images of the uterus in the case of a transvaginal ultrasound scan.

Most women suffering from uterine cancer will need surgery to get rid of the cancerous growth. If you
are suffering from uterine cancer, the treatment plan that you need to follow will depend on the type of
cancer that you are suffering from and your overall health condition. Researchers are still studying to
find more ways to treat endometrial cancer.
